To all Friends of Freedom…a Call to Convention

March 2, 2004 Volume 7, Issue 2

If the United States Constitution is a sacred document to you… if its principles of limited government and individual liberty are the values that guide your life…if you are constantly thinking that someone must do something to stand up for these principles… Then you must be in Reno, Nevada on July 21-24 to join with hundreds of like minded Americans at the fifth annual Freedom 21 National Conference.

This conference is for those who want to invigorate Constitutional principles including property rights activists, Second Amendment defenders, back-to-basics education proponents, free market advocates, tax opponents, family autonomy champions, personal privacy protectors, guardians of American independence and sovereignty, libertarians, and those who share a Judeo-Christian understanding of the value of individual human life. At Freedom 21, single-issue advocates will discover the threads that connect their concerns to all the others. And you will learn how to join together and fight back.

Much of the conference will be held in a convention-like format and you can help write "A plan for Advancing Freedom in the 21st Century." That document will create a framework that allows individuals and groups to easily organize to advance freedom in their communities.

Freedom 21 is co-sponsored by the American Policy Center, Eagle Forum, The Paragon Foundation, Environmental Conservation Organization (ECO), The Heartland Institute, Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT) and Sovereignty International. Speakers will include Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX), Helen Chenoweth-Hage, Judge Roy Moore, Paul Driessen (author of "Eco-Imperialism: green power; black death), Niger Innis, national spokesman for the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), Wayne Hage, David Rothbard, Dr. Michael Coffman, Ron Arnold, Lori Waters (Ex. Dr., Eagle Forum), John Lockie (Ex. Dr., R-CALF USA), Henry Lamb, Tom DeWeese, Kent Snyder (Liberty Committee), Mike Hardiman, Chuck Cushman, Michael Shaw (Freedom 21 Santa Cruz), and many more.

This national conference of Freedom 21 is the boldest step taken to organize on a national level, those who are fighting on the front lines in local communities. Freedom 21 is your chance to organize and fight for the principles you hold so dear. It’s a chance to be a leader in the fight to take America back. It’s a chance to take action… now.

Freedom 21 will be held at John Ascuaga’s Nugget Hotel in Reno, Nevada, July 21-24, 2004. Early registration is only $75 per person. To register, or for more information, visit the Freedom 21 web site at www.freedom21.org. Or call Henry Lamb at ECO (731-986-0099) or the American Policy Center (540-341-8911).

It is vital that delegates attend from all 50 states. You can represent your state and be a part of this most important event in the defense of our liberty. Call now!

Peyton Knight Resigns APC Legislative Post

With deep regret I must announce that APC Legislative Director Peyton Knight has resigned to take a position with the Center for Consumer Freedom. Peyton served APC with distinction for more than 4 years. 2003 was a banner year for both he and APC as he testified before both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives in a courageous effort to stop the implementation of federal Heritage Areas, a powerful new land grab scheme. In fact, Peyton became the recognized expert on the issue and was personally responsible for the insertion of key property rights protection language in Heritage Area legislation passed a few months ago.

The good news is that Peyton hasn’t strayed far as he works with Consumer Freedom to take on the animal rights radicals and the obesity scam. In addition, Peyton continues to serve as Vice President of APC’s sister organization, the American Policy Foundation (APF) and we talk at least once a week, as he remains vitally interested in promoting APC issues. Send in bigger contributions to APC and we just might persuade him to come back someday soon. Meanwhile, Peyton and his wife April are planning for the arrival of their first child, due this coming July 3rd. We here at APC have suggested the new patriot’s name should be Thomas Jefferson Knight.

Senate Holds Hearings on Bush Amnesty Plan…

The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Reform recently held hearings on Bush’s "guest worker" proposal. Top Bush administration officials testified in favor of legalizing millions of illegal aliens and bringing in millions more "foreign workers." These hearings are the first step towards pushing Bush’s plan through the Congress. The actual bill for the plan will likely be a combination of S.1387 sponsored by Sen. Cornyn; S.1461, sponsored by Sen. McCain; and/or S. 2010 sponsored by Sen. Daschle and Sen. Hagel.
