Will You "Stand for Sovereignty" Against the UN?

August 11, 2000 Volume 3, Issue 12

On September 6th, 7th and 8th, the U.N. will hold its Millennium Summit at its headquarters in New York City.

The U.N.’s General Assembly will meet alongside almost all the world’s heads of state -- including Bill Clinton. The U.N. says the purpose of the meeting is to examine the changing role of the U.N. in the 21st century and strengthen the U.N.’s authority and capacity. Much more than an "examination" will take place.

The assembled delegates will be asked to endorse the U.N.’s dangerous Charter for Global Democracy, a document developed by different international special interest groups. The Charter for Global Democracy calls for a massive restructuring and retooling of the U.N.

The Charter for Global Democracy gives the U.N. a standing army with blanket authority to intervene in American affairs "in a crisis." It gives the U.N.’s International Criminal Court the authority to prosecute Americans for violations against U.N. dictates without the protections of the Constitution. And it forces U.S. compliance with radical U.N. environmental treaties that will devastate the U.S. economy and destroy property rights.

This dangerous Charter creates a global IRS with power to tax and regulate international commerce that affects the U.S.

Most important, this treaty strips the U.S. of our permanent seat in the U.N. Security Council and abolishes our veto power.

If the U.N. achieves these dangerous goals our sovereignty will be damaged beyond repair. The U.S. will steadily lose control over its own land and people until it becomes insignificant.

That’s why I’m calling on concerned Americans from across the nation to "Stand for Sovereignty" with me.

I have arranged to hold a special press conference on Capitol Hill on September 7th – the second day of the U.N.’s Millennium Summit. I will stand alongside Representatives Ron Paul and Helen Chenoweth-Hage to speak out against the U.N. threat to American liberty and sovereignty. And several other conservative groups will be there to speak out also.

At this special press conference I will deliver more than 250,000 petitions to oppose the U.N. and support Ron Paul’s American Sovereignty Restoration Act (H.R. 1146) – the bill that pulls the U.S. out of the U.N. Other conservative groups will deliver their petitions on these subjects at that time as well.

While I believe this press conference will reach many Americans, much more is needed. That’s why I need your help.

I want to create a grassroots uprising in opposition to the U.N.’s latest attempt to subvert American sovereignty. Here’s what I think you and I should do:

1. Hold local rallies against the U.N. on September 6th. These rallies should be held at the district office of your Congressman. These rallies should be designed to put pressure on Congressmen to co-sponsor and vote for Ron Paul’s American Sovereignty Restoration Act.

2. Coordinate a letter to the editor campaign to your local newspapers.

3. Call local radio stations about the U.N.’s Millennium Summit -- especially during the Summit. Local conservative talk shows are often very effective at disseminating the truth.

4. Call your Congressman on September 7th and ask him to co-sponsor and support the American Sovereignty Restoration Act. Coordinate calling among your activists. You should call at 12:00 noon.

5. Spread this newswire to every possible activist and sign on to our action alert system. As an individual or if you are a member or officer of a concerned group of citizens, please fill out the "Stand for Sovereignty" coalition form. Give your e-mail or fax number to the American Policy Center so we can contact you in the future.

6. Wear a red, white and blue arm band or put a sign in your window to oppose the U.N.’s Charter for Global Democracy. If someone asks you what it’s about, explain it to them.

These points are guidelines. But be creative in your efforts. Feel free to contact the American Policy Center if you have more ideas to fight against the U.N.’s dangerous Charter for Global Democracy.

I truly believe you and I can win this battle. We can stop the U.N. in its tracks. And gather momentum for getting the U.S. out of the U.N.

Thank you for all your hard work to advance liberty, property rights and American sovereignty. Just respond by completing the "Stand for Sovereignty" coalition form and fax or email it to APC.
