U.S. Representatives Duncan Hunter (R-CA) and Virgil Goode (R-VA) have introduce "The True Enforcement and Border Security Act of 2005" (H.R. 4313), which would declare the Southern border a "security zone." The bill calls for fencing, roads and new technology to be placed across the entire 2,000 mile US border. The bill would also add 10,000 new border patrol officers and 4,000 new federal agents to enforce immigration laws internally, including workforce investigations and prosecutions.
The bill also includes all major provisions of the CLEAR Act (the Clear Law Enforcement for Removal of Criminal Illegal Aliens Act of 2005), H.R. 3137. The CLEAR Act was introduced by Rep. Charles Norwood earlier this year. CLEAR authorizes, encourages, and provides funding and training for state and local law enforcement agencies to assist enforcement of immigration law. Currently, local law enforcement cannot arrest illegal aliens for that crime.
President Bush has felt the pressure of outraged Americans over the illegal immigration issue. Now we must make sure Congress feels that pressure as well.

Hose passes the Private Property Protection Act
Action now moves to the Senate
The U.S. House of Representatives voted 376-38 to support private property rights that were literally destroyed by the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Kelo VS New London decision earlier this year. That ruling said that local governments could take private property through the use of Eminent Domain even to enhance the pockets of private developers who, for example, may be building shopping malls and office parks. Under the Supreme Court’s decision, virtually no property is safe from such takings.
The Private Property Protection Act (HR. 3135) would allow the withholding of federal money for any local governments that use eminent domain to take land for such purposes.
Now, the action moves to the Senate where a similar bill of the same name, S1313 awaits Senate Consideration. So far the Senate has announced no time table for action. The bill is now in the Senate Judiciary Committee. Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) is Chairman.
Action to Take:
1. Call or write Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter and tell him you want the Private Property Protection Act (S.1313) moved out of his committee and onto the Senate floor for a full vote.

House Passes Child Medication Safety Act
Again, The Senate is the Road Block To Protecting Children
The House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved the Child Medication Safety Act (CMSA) by a vote of 407-12. The bill (H.R. 1790) is to protect children and their parents from being coerced into administering a controlled substance or a psychotropic drug (Ritalin for example) in order to attend school.
In a floor speech for the bill, sponsor, Rep John Kline (R-MN) noted the potential for "serious harm and abuse" in the use if psychotropic drugs on children. "In some instances," he stated, "school personnel freely offer diagnoses for ADD and ADHD disorders and urge parents to obtain drug treatment for their child. Sometimes, officials even attempt to force parents into choosing between medicating their child and allowing the child to remain in the classroom. This is unconscionable. Parents should never be forced to medicate their child against their will and better judgment in order to ensure their child will receive educational services."
In the last Congress, The CMSA also passed the House by a vote of 425-1. Yet is died in the Senate for lack of committee action, thanks to the active blockage of Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA). Interesting to note, Senator Kennedy received $171,601 in campaign contributions from health professionals and $97,050 from the pharmaceutical and health-related industries – all of whom earn big buck pouring drugs into the children in public schools.
It’s time to tell big Pharma and Ted Kennedy enough drugging of our children.
Action to Take:
Call or write both of your United States Senators and demand they support the Child Medication Safety Act and support parental rights to protect their children from mandatory drugging.
