DeWeese Offers New President
and Congress a "Liberty Wish List"
While children worked on
their last minute gift lists for Santa, Tom DeWeese, wrote his
"Liberty Wish List" for President-elect George W. Bush and the
107th Congress.
- A complete review and reversal of executive
orders issued by President Clinton and previous administrations that
run counter to the mandates of the US Constitution.
- An energy policy that utilizes the vast
reserves of oil, coal and natural gas that exist throughout the U.S.,
reducing our dependency on foreign imports.
- The reversal of the designations of National
Monuments made during the Clinton years.
- Passage of the American Land Sovereignty
Protection Act (S. 3146) to insure that neither the United Nations or
any other international organization can exercise any jurisdiction
over the US landmass, its forests, deserts, national monuments and
historic sites.
- The rejection of any United Nations claims of
jurisdiction over US citizens via its World Court.
- The absolute right of Congress to determine US
trade policy free of any interference from any international
organization.
- The repeal of the Endangered Species Act whose
sole purpose is an attack on property rights and development of any
kind.
- The rejection of the UN Climate Control Treaty
to insure the US economy is not devastated by the requirement to cut
back its energy use to 1990's levels.
- An end to educator-mandated prescriptions of
mind-altering drugs for millions of America's schools children and a
boost for back-to-basics education.
"In these and many other ways, the
new President and Congress can begin to restore and respect the
Constitutional powers allocated to them, to the states, and to the
citizens of this nation."
